Nieuwe Sluizen van Terneuzen

For Rijkswaterstaat (the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management), we organised the opening of the Nieuwe Sluis in Terneuzen: a large-scale project where technology, politics, and the public came together.

Within one week, three different events took place:
the official opening attended by the Dutch and Belgian Kings,
a public open day for several thousand visitors,
and a celebration for everyone who had worked on the project.

The assignment was complex.
We worked with multiple government protocols, international guests, strict security zones, and varied audience flows — all while keeping the content and atmosphere consistent across the three events.

Our team moved effortlessly between meetings at ministerial level, site visits on the construction grounds, and communication with the public. It required flexibility, precision, and a clear overview — qualities that define how we at CAOS work.

This project was not about one single moment, but about connecting many perspectives: public, political, technical, and human.
