Evenement: Inspiratiefestival OBA
Locatie: Amsterdam

All locations of the Public Library of Amsterdam closed? That rarely happens. But on this day, that was the plan.

In September 2024, all public libraries in Amsterdam closed their doors for something truly special: a full day dedicated to their staff. A day of connection, inspiration, and fun — designed entirely by the employees themselves.

There is an incredible amount of talent within OBA. All we needed to do was offer them a stage.
From their own ideas and initiatives emerged a rich and varied programme: from laser tag between the bookshelves to workshops on diversity and inclusion, from creative sessions to origami made with retired library books.

The extensive programme included a generous lunch, served by food trucks from across the city.
To top it all off, there was a moving closing moment when OBA Director Martin Berendse received the Andreas Medal from Councillor Marjolein Moorman — a tribute to his great dedication to the library of the future.

CAOS is proud to have facilitated this inspiring day, created for and by OBA employees.
